Charlene Evelyn Bullock, 96, of Capac, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021, at Christensen Care in Marlette.
She was born in Searcy, AR on January 6, 1925, daughter of the late Charles and Velma Hannah.
Charlene and her two sisters left Searcy, AR and traveled to Ypsilanti where she worked in an ammunition factory during World War II. She married Arthur Bullock in August of 1945 and he passed away in 1990 after 45 years of marriage. Her support to service members never ended and she continued to support organizations throughout her life that supported service members. Art and Charlene owned and operated Bullock Plumbing and Heating in Yale and Capac. She lived in Roscommon for many years after moving from her hometown, Capac, before moving to Port Richey, FL where she spent nearly 30 years. Charlene had a big and kind heart, she faithfully attended church, and she liked bowling, snowmobiling, playing cards and cooking. She made dishes that have always been remembered, like southern fried chicken, milk gravy and her famous Spanish rice. Her famous words were, “I told you forty eleven times.” There is peace and it is a blessing knowing she is finally with her husband, and is no longer suffering. Her family is grateful for the wonderful care given by Holly and the staff at Christensen Care in Marlette for the last few years.
She is survived by her children, Gerald (Rose) Bullock of Florida, Kenneth (Choo) Bullock of Texas, Barry (Lori) Bullock of Oscoda, Janet (Bob) Syrjala, and Maynard (Debbie) Bullock; grandchildren, Brian, RZ, Ryan (Jen), Brandy, Billie Jo (Jeff), Lisa, Douglas, Mike, Marlene, Tony, Mike, Arty and Larry.
Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; grandson, Justin; and sisters, Ida Belle and Mary.
