LAPEER — The holiday season is here and Six Mile Strings is coming to make it memorable.
The Center for the Arts of Greater Lapeer will host string quartet 6 Mile Strings (6MS) at 7:30 p.m. on December 11 at The Pix Theatre.
The Detroit ensemble is comprised of members Yuri Popo, Natalie Frakes, Alycia Wilder and Tom Sullivan.
“6MS are a string quartet of friends who focus on performing classical and contemporary works. They aim to expand the scope and artistry of the traditional string quartet by working with artists of many genres and across disciplines,” the Center said in a press release.
“Beyond the concert stage, all four musicians are educators and the quartet works to provide insight into the contemporary world of music as well as giving a fundamental understanding of classical music.”
Their performance offers an opportunity to hear some classical pieces as well as some original ones, along with some holiday selections to put everyone in the spirit of the season.
Tickets for this event are $18 in advance or $20 at the door, with tickets available for students and seniors for $16 in advance, $18 at the door.
