TRI-CITY AREA — From the first meet in August until the last one in November, these athletes let their respective performances speak for itself.
Here is a look at who made the 2021 edition of the Tri-City Times All-Area girls’ cross country team and the credentials they amassed en route.
Elizabeth Sliman, Imlay City.
Sliman logged a Tri-City best time of 20:00.86 en route to a second at the Blue Water Area Conference Meet on Tuesday, October 12.
North Branch High School is where the meet was contested.
The senior registered a first at the Columbus County Park-based Get Your Toes Wet Invitational; took seconds at the Evan Gardner Invitational in Durand, a Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet hosted by Richmond (at Goodells); a Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet hosted by Almont; obtained a third at the Birch Run Fall Classic; furnished a fifth at the Dryden Invitational; notched sixths at the Clawson Watermelon Invitational and Corunna Earlybird Invitational; generated a seventh at an Algonac-based Division 2 regional; collected 11ths at the Algonac Classic Run and Hanson’s Invite at Freedom Hill County Park; plus supplied an 83rd during the Division 2 state meet at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
Jenna Denver, Imlay City.
Denver notched a clocking of 20:57.3 for 154th Saturday, November 6 at the Division 2 state finals.

The junior claimed a second at the Columbus County Park-based Get Your Toes Wet Invitational; took sixths at a Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet and Birch Run Fall Classic; furnished eighths at an Almont High School-based Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet and the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet hosted by North Branch; claimed a 10th at the Goodells County Park-based Midseason Spectacular; obtained a 12th at a Division 2 regional hosted by Algonac High School; provided a 27th at the Freedom Hill County Park-based Hanson’s Invitational; plus added a 154th during the Division 2 state finals at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
Molly Kline, Almont.
Kline raced to a time of 21:36.7 en route to a 147th at the Division 3 state finals on Saturday, November 6.

The senior claimed a third at the Brown City Green Devil Invitational; provided a sixth at an Algonac High School-based Division 3 regional; pulled up seventh at the Dave Patterson Invitational in Mayville; generated 11ths at the Clawson Watermelon Invitational, Pete Moss Benzie Invitational and a Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree hosted by Richmond; collected a 12th at the North Branch-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; wound up 15th during the Mariner Invitational at Columbus County Park; supplied an 18th at the Stony Creek-based Autumn Classic; obtained a 34th at the Algonac Classic Run; plus supplied a 147th during the Division 3 state meet at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn
Mary Kaminski, Imlay City.
Kaminski notched a 21:51.9 clocking for 22nd Saturday, October 30 at an Algonac High School-based Division 2 regional.
The senior provided fifth at the Columbus County Park-based Get Your Toes Wet Invitational; took ninth at the Evan Gardner Invitational in Durand; pulled up 12th during a Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet in Almont; placed 15th at the Goodrich-based Kayla O’Mara Memorial Invitational and Dryden Cardinal Invitational; obtained a 16th at the Blue Water Area Conference Meet hosted by North Branch High School; furnished a 17th at a Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet hosted by Richmond; contributed a 20th at Goodells County Park-based New Balance Midseason Spectacular; furnished a 22nd at a Division 2 regional in Algonac; collected a 41st at the Algonac Classic Run; plus pulled up 48th at the Corunna Earlybird Invitational.

Delaurier furnished a 22:50 time en route to a 25th at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet on Tuesday, October 19.

The sophomore took 11th at the Brown City Green Devil Invitational; pulled up 13th during an Algonac-based Division 3 regional; provided an 18th at the Clawson Watermelon Invitational; placed 20th at the Mayville-based Dave Patterson Invitational; registered a 21st at a Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet hosted by Richmond; generated a 25th at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet in North Branch; obtained a 35th at the Columbus County Park-based Mariner Invitational; registered a 41st at a Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet in Almont; claimed a 45th at the Ubly Invitational; collected a 47th at the Pete Moss Benzie Invitational; supplied a 49th at the Algonac Classic Run; plus ranked 213th at the Division 3 state meet hosted by Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
Audrey Napolitano, Dryden.
Napolitano registered a 22:53.2 clocking for 22nd Saturday, October 30 at a Division 4 regional.
Wagener County Park, in Harbor Beach, is where the meet took place.
The sophomore pulled up ninth at the Kingston-based North Central Thumb League Meet; obtained a 12th at the Linden Classic; supplied a 20th at the Dryden Cardinal Invitational; generated a 22nd at the Division 4 regional in Harbor Beach; collected 23rds at the Bad Axe-based Hatchet Invitational and Holly Duane Raffin Festival of Races; notched a 30th at the Birch Run Fall Invitational; contributed a 35th at the Shepherd Bluejay Invitational; furnished a 56th at the Cass Benton Park-based Mustang Invitational; plus provided a 61st at the Oxford Invitational.
Charlotte O’Brien, Imlay City.
O’Brien posted a 23:01.4 time en route to a 26th at the Blue Water Area Conference League Meet.

The freshman collected 11ths at the Columbus County Park-based Get Your Toes Wet Invitational and Hanson’s Invitational at Freedom Hill County Park; placed 17th at the Evan Gardner Invitational in Durand; pulled up 25th at the Clawson Watermelon Invitational; contributed a 26th at the North Branch-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; obtained a 28th at the Dryden Cardinal Invitational; supplied a 31st at an Almont High School-based Blue Water Area Conference League Meet; claimed a 37th at the Goodrich-based Kayla O’Mara Memorial Invitational; furnished a 38th at the Birch Run Fall Invitational; generated a 39th at a Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet hosted by Richmond; provided a 41st at the Marysville Invitational; took 44th at the Corunna Earlybird Invitational; generated a 57th at an Algonac-based Division 2 regional; plus provided a 67th at the Algonac Classic Run.

Coach of the Year- For directing Imlay City to firsts at the Columbus County Park-based Get Your Toes Wet Invitational and Durand -based Evan Gardner Invitational plus thirds at at an Almont-based Blue Water Area Conference Jamboree Meet, North Branch-based Blue Water Area Conference-League Meet and Goodells County Park-based New Balance Midseason Spectacular, Sara O’Brien earns Tri-City Times All-Area Coach of the Year accolades.

Kevin Kissane has been covering high school sports for the Tri-City Times since 1985. When not standing on a field or court with his camera and notepad, he enjoys golf, travel and family. Kevin is a 1980 graduate of Capac High School, and is also a grad of St. Clair Community College and earned a degree in journalism from Central Michigan University.
