James Willard Morris, age 82, passed away November 18, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born November 19, 1938 in Kissimmee, Florida, the son of Leon and Lillian (Edwards) Morris. He worked as a quality inspector for Borg Warner for many years. He married his beloved wife Helen Carol Readle in 1966. Jim loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and snowmobiler. He was a “Mr. Fixit” and enjoyed working on cars. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his beloved wife Helen of Washington, loving children Cheryl Petrie-Clanton of Romeo, Michelle (Bill Montreuil) De La Cruz of Romeo; beloved grandchildren Kashmir VanReyendam, James Richard (Crystal) Morris, Jr., Tiffany Petrie, Leonard Petrie, Jamie Morris, Elizabeth (Travis Ferrell) Morris, Angela De La Cruz; great grandchildren Noah Terry, Darian Ethridge, Samantha VanReyendam, Justin Gross, Gloriana Terry, Isabella Petrie, Johanna Morris, James Morris, Caitlyn Morris, Erica Bennett, Summer Cogghe, Madison Morris, and Tyler Morris.
Also surviving sibling Billy Hamond, Mary Griffith, Tommy Hamond.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son James Richard Morris and siblings Tom, Clarence, Joyce, Bonnie, and Helen.
Family will be receiving friends and family on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 4:00PM to 7:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service at 4:30 PM. Arrangements are entrusted to Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center (2650 South VanDyke, Imlay City, MI 48444)
