Kathy Ann Wade, age 53, a resident of Imlay City, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 with her family by her side in Jackson. She was born March 17, 1968, the daughter of Orval and Marjorie (Walters) Maynard in Hart.

Kathy loved playing sports in high school and was a great athlete on the volleyball, the basketball and the track teams. She continued to love playing sports on adult teams and playing with her family. After graduating from Hesperia High School, Kathy received her Bachelor’s of Education in English from Central Michigan University and went on to receive her Master’s in Behavioral Studies from Marygrove College. Kathy grew up with Dwayne Wade, her husband to be, and he proposed to her at the Little Point Sable Lighthouse because of her love for lighthouses. They were married December 22, 1990 in New Era, MI. She taught English to Spanish-speaking migrants at Walkerville Elementary school. Her final teaching job was at Hart Middle school before she retired to raise her own family. Kathy homeschooled her four children through high school and was always proud of their accomplishments.

Kathy could motivate those around her to learn and teach. She enjoyed music and singing. Kathy was a great cook and baker. She baked the most amazing birthday cakes for every birthday. She would love a food at a restaurant and could duplicate it later at home just by having tasted it. She loved her husband and her children and they miss her with all of their hearts.
