The holidays are approaching, and we want to be sure the community is aware of a program offered by Linked Hearts Emergency Food Pantry and Holiday Depot of Lapeer County.

The purpose of this program is to offer local families Christmas gifts and/or food assistance for this coming Christmas holiday season. We feel this year in particular, because of the coronavirus pandemic, some may be in special need and we want to help.

Local residents must qualify to participate in this program. To qualify, applicants must be a Lapeer County low-income resident and complete an application. All applications must be completed in person and must have the following items to complete the application.

1. A picture identification with a Lapeer County address.

2. A social security card (not just the number) or birth certificate for each additional household member.

3. Proof of income for the past 30 days.

Applications will be taken on the dates at our facility on Main Street in Dryden at the times listed below.

•Mondays: October 18, 25 and November 1, 8, 15 from 12-4 p.m.

•Wednesdays: October 13, 20, 27 and November 3, 10, 17 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

We look forward to seeing you.
