Eugene Pasanen, age 75, of Imlay City, MI died Monday, September 27, 2021 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital. Eugene Earl Pasanen was born January 23, 1946 in Minnesota. He was the son of the late Eino and the late Helen Pasanen. Gene grew up in Calumet, MI and the family moved to Highland Park when he was a teenager. Gene attended school in Highland Park, MI. Gene met his future wife in Ferndale and he married Lillian Arvilla Ferrell on May 16, 1975 in Ferndale, MI. They have lived in the Imlay City area since 1989. Lillian died on October 12, 2019.

Gene worked for 30 years for General Motors. He retired as a Hi-Lo driver at the General Motors – Hamtramck Plant. Gene enjoyed fishing, bowling, hunting, taking care of his yard, and building woodworking projects: tables, birdhouses and decks.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna Lynn Franks of Imlay City, MI and Michelle Ulrich of Toledo, OH; son, Bob Pasanen of Almont, MI; seven grandchildren, Bryan, Alyssa, Bobby,
Amanda, Salena, Aleah, Amira; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian; and a son-in-law, Kevin Franks.

The funeral service was held Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Pastor Tim Ericson of Trinity Baptist Church of Imlay City officiated. Burial followed at Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hill.
