IMLAY CITY— The Imlay City-area Chamber of Commerce hosts its 4th Annual “Chamber Chili Open” at Castle Creek Golf Course in Lum this Sunday, Oct. 3.

Chamber Director Shannon Hamel said she is seeking additional golfers and sponsors to participate and support the 2021 fundraiser.

Hamel said signup is ongoing for teams of four players at a cost of $240 per team.

“We are really looking forward to another successful Chili Open,” said Hamel. “This event a great opportunity to get out on the course with family, friends, co-workers and neighbors.
“We’re hoping to make this year’s event our best-ever.”

A “shotgun start” is set for 9 a.m., along with a “best ball” scramble, longest drive, closest-to-the-pin contest, a Vegas hole, skins game and 50/50 raffle.

Hamel said golfers are encouraged to take a break at the turn to enjoy a hot dog and cold beverage.

At the end of 18 holes, all are invited inside to enjoy a nacho/potato bar — to include the main entree; “chili, of course,” said Hamel.

She added that the event’s “hole-in-one” contest is sponsored by Milnes Chevrolet; with a chance to win a new car.
