Homecoming parade, Darren McCarty & bike raffle on tap

IMLAY CITY — This Friday, Sept. 24, will be a great day to spend the afternoon and evening in downtown Imlay City.

At 4:30 p,m., the Imlay City Area Chamber of Commerce and downtown businesses will host a “tailgate party,” followed by the 2021 Imlay City High School homecoming parade at 5 p.m.

The parade will feature the Imlay City High School Marching Band, led by Director Scott Pries; along with members of the Imlay City Spartan football team and homecoming court.

Bike Night raffle

Parade attendees will want to stick around for a chance to see and meet former Detroit Red Wing and WJR Radio personality Darren McCarty, who will be in town from 6-8 p.m.

In conjunction with McCarty’s visit, the Imlay City Downtown Development Authority will host a special Bike Night raffle at Lamb-Steele park for the ‘Custom Chopper Giveaway,’ sponsored by the Sam Bernstein Law Firm and Volunteers of America.

Music in the Park

Were that not enough, the DDA will welcome Motor City Josh & The Big Three for another concert at Lamb-Steele Park.
