Traditional event will feature parade, fireworks, live music

 

DRYDEN — The Dryden Fall Festival Committee is putting its finishing touches on this weekend’s hometown celebration Sept. 24-25.

Organizers note that all of this year’s activities take place at Cardinal Field, with the exception of the Fall Festival Parade, which makes its way through the downtown district at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Sept. 24, a vendor and craft show will run from noon – p.m., while there will be live music, food trucks and a beer tent from 4 p.m. through midnight.

On Saturday, Sept. 25, the day begins with a 5-K run at 9 a.m., followed by the parade at 11 a.m.; a vendor and craft show from 9-6; a Tween-Teen Tent from 4-10 p.m.; Master’s Automotive’s car/truck/tractor/bike show from noon – 4 p.m.; and live music and the beer tent from noon-midnight.

Journey tribute band, Captured Detroit, will take the festival stage on Friday night starting at 9:30 p.m.

Fireworks display

Among the weekend’s highlights will be the festival’s traditional fireworks display scheduled to start at dusk on Saturday evening.

Friday’s entertainment will feature “Heartstring Stereo” starting at 5:30 p.m., to be followed by Journey tribute band, “Captured Detroit” at 9:30 p.m.

Saturday’s entertainment includes the “Strickler Brothers” starting at 3 p.m.; with “Taylor Tucky” taking the stage at 7:30 p.m.

Kids stuff

Children will find a variety of activities to their liking, including the ever-popular inflatables and abundant games for kids of all ages.

For the youth, a Teen Tent, featuring “Ramble On” DJ Services, will be open from 4-10 p.m.
