Community event to feature parade, fireworks, fun for all

DRYDEN — This year’s Dryden Fall Festival (Sept. 24-25) promises to be a fun-packed weekend for residents and visitors.

Event organizers have put together a full schedule of activities guaranteed to entertain adults, kids and teens.

With the exception of the Dryden Fall Festival Parade (sponsored by the Dryden Fire Dept.) at 11 a.m. on Saturday, all activities will take place at Cardinal Field.

On Friday, Sept. 24, the day starts off with a vendor and craft show from noon through 6 p.m.; on Saturday vendors will be available from 9-6.

Friday’s entertainment will feature Heart String Stereo at 5:30 p.m., and Journey tribute band Captured Detroit at 9:30.

Saturday’s entertainment lineup featues the Strickler Brothers from 3-6 p.m.; and Taylor Tucky from 7:30-11:30 p.m.

On Saturday the day starts with a 5-K Run at 9 a.m

The festival’s Car, Truck and Tractor Show, sponsored again by Master’s Automotive, will run from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Among the weekend’s highlights is the large fireworks display to begin at dusk on Saturday.

Children attendees will find a variety of activities to their liking, including the popular inflatables and games for kids starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

For the youth, a Teen Tent, featuring “Ramble On” DJ Services, will be open from 4-10 p.m.

Of course, the beer tent, featuring regular and craft beer and wine, is expected to be a popular meeting place for adults on both Friday and Saturday.

And for those with a hankering for some tasty cuisine, Swanky Fox Barbeque will be on hand to feed their appetities.
