There will be a Community Prayer event on Sunday, Sept. 19, at 2 p.m. at the Imlay City Fairgrounds (north side). All are invited to participate. This is the second annual September prayer.

As the body of Christ in our community, we have both the privilege and the responsibility to pray. We will be praying for our communities, our children, our families, our schools, our businesses and the government.

September is the month of beginning and it is a good time to come together in unity. When it’s hard to understand things happening around us we can be confident that God hears our prayers and stands ready to answer. As Psalm 46:1 says “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”

Prayer is a very important part of the Christian life and seen throughout each book of the Bible. Prayer brings us into the very presence of the sovereign almighty God. Prayer strengthens our faith and trust in God. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving let your requests be known to God.” (Philippians 4:6).

So please come on Sunday and together saturate our community with prayer! We are here for a time such as this and let us go forward to shine light and give hope to others. May we go forward to help others know God’s great love and truth and may be give all glory and honor to him.
