Mary DiPalma, age 77, of Lapeer, MI died Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at her home in Lapeer. Mary Kathryn Saunders was born May 9, 1944 in Waldport, Oregon. She was the daughter of the late Raymond and the late Kathryn (Morton) Saunders. Mary grew up in Oregon before moving to Michigan. She was a graduate of Groves High School in Beverly Hills, MI. She married Anthony “Tony” DiPalma on August 14, 1983 in Rochester, MI. Mary and Tony lived in Dryden, MI before moving to Lapeer in 1997.

When Mary and Tony were first married, she was a medical biller for a cardiologist. Mary enjoyed spending time with her husband, daughter, son-in-law, and two grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling to new places in her RV, going to the casino, riding on the back of her husband’s Harley, listening to her favorite Bob Seger tunes, and strolling through her neighborhood on her golf cart.

She is survived by her husband, Tony DiPalma; her daughter, Kelly (Tom) Schutz of Imlay City, MI; sisters, Patricia (Mark) Brinker of Sterling Heights, MI and Carol (Mike) Murphy of Harrison, MI; her brother, John (Barb) Saunders of Almont, MI; and her grandchildren, Kaitlin Schutz and Brandon Schutz.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Kathryn Saunders.

A Celebration of Mary’s life is being planned for a later date. Arrangements for Mary’s cremation were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
