CAPAC — ChoiceOne Bank will host a Community Shred Day this Saturday, August 28, at the ChoiceOne Capac office, located at 206 North Main Street. This is the 15th consecutive year the bank has hosted Free Community Shred Days.
The ChoiceOne Community Shred Day will run from 9 a.m. to noon, or until the truck is full, for people to drop off their shredding. Vehicles will line up with a drive-thru drop off point for items to be shred. This event is open to the entire community. You do not need to be a ChoiceOne customer to participate.
“With identity fraud increasing at alarming rates today, it’s important to keep bills, financial statements and other personal documents confidential,” said ChoiceOne President Michael J. Burke, Jr.
“Everyone is welcome to bring confidential tax, medical and bank documents for safe and secure destruction. We are pleased to offer this paper shredding event to help keep your confidential and sensitive information safe.”
Paperwork is deposited into a special bin at the event. Once the bin is full, it is lifted, and the contents are dropped into the mobile shredding truck. Each 96-gallon bin of paper takes less than three minutes to shred. It is not necessary to remove staples, paper clips or bindings – the truck will shred through them. Items that should not be included: compact discs, floppy disks, plastic bags, magazines, or newspapers. Please your shredding to five banker-size boxes to help ensure everyone can take part in this service.
