Marge Rankens, age 84, of Imlay City, MI died Saturday, August 21, 2021 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital. Marjorie Faye Renollet was born September 22, 1936 in Harper, KS. She was the daughter of the late Marcine “Marc” and the late Marie (Thiel) Renollet. Marge grew up in Wichita and was a graduate of Wichita West High School. She married Alvin S. Rankens on February 4, 1956 in Wichita, KS. Marge and Al met when Al was stationed in Wichita at the McConnell Air Force Base. After they married, Marge and Al moved to the Almont area and then to Imlay City in 1963, where they raised their family.
Marge was a very well known, high sales realtor in Lapeer County; she sold real estate for both Deerfield Realty and Belle Valley Realty throughout the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s. Marge retired from real estate sales in the late 1990s. Marge was very active in the life of her children and grandchildren. She made a point of contributing to several organizations, charities and others. When she was younger, she enjoyed playing the organ at home for her family, reading inspirational books and literature, writing short poems and shopping.
Marge is survived by her husband, Alvin Rankens of Imlay City; her son, Jeffery (Kimberly) Rankens of Dorr, MI; her daughters, Marcia (Don) Anderson of Attica, MI and Angela (Todd) Meyer of Crawfordville, FL; and a sister, Marilyn (Jim) Wait of Wichita, KS. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Seth (Jeanette) Anderson, Hilary (Brandon) Weber, Justine (Dustin) Ackley, Scott (Gabrielle) Rankens and Ania Meyer; and great-grandchildren, Ava, Easton, Colton, Tucker, Parson, Percy, Pryor, Vivienne and Ace.
Marge was preceded in death by an infant son, Alvin Rankens; her parents, Marc and Marie Renollet; and brothers, Charles, Clinton and Calvin.
The memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Lapeer Church of Christ, 1680 N. Lapeer Rd. (M-24), Lapeer, MI.
The Rankens family will be available for visitation from 2-3 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Lapeer Church of Christ, 1680 N. Lapeer Rd. (M-24), Lapeer, MI.
The burial of her cremated remains will take place at a later date at the Riverview Cemetery, Hamilton, MI.
