Marcelle “Marcie” Rees, age 64, of Imlay City, MI died Thursday, July 29, 2021 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital of Lapeer, MI. Marcelle Marion Marceau was born January 16, 1957 in Detroit, MI. She was the daughter of the late John “Jack” and the late Mary (Brown) Marceau. Marcie grew up in Taylor before her family moved to Romeo, MI. She was a graduate of Romeo High School, Class of 1975. She married Bruce Rees on November 24, 1984 in Romeo, MI.
She was a co-owner of Countryside Market with her sister, Evelyn, (north of Imlay City at Bowers Road) in Imlay City, MI. Marcie loved to have all her grandchildren over to visit. She truly enjoyed Christmas and getting ready for it.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce Rees; daughters, Chelsea (Damian) Salmond of Lapeer, MI, Ashley Lynn Robinson of Imlay City, MI and Amber Lynn Gibson of Lake Odessa, MI; son, Daniel Robinson of Lapeer, MI; five sisters, Jacqueline Marceau of Imlay City, MI, Evelyn Congdon of Kimball, MI, Lisa Cooper of Romeo, MI, Patricia Muxlow of Kings Mill, MI and Michele Marceau of Alexandria, VA; and her 11 grandchildren. Marcie was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Marceau.
The funeral was held Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street (the corner of 4th and Main), Imlay City, MI. Pastor Ken Tison, of Goodland Community Church, officiated. Interment followed at Imlay Township Cemetery, Imlay City, MI.
