Leatha Kaye McKee, 64, of Emmett Township, passed away after a long illness on July 23, 2021, at Lake Huron Medical Center, Port Huron.
She was born in Mt. Clemens, September 25, 1956, the daughter of the late Richard and Iris (McMillan) Trombley. Her marriage to David Lee McKee was October 25, 1975, at First United Methodist Church, Mt. Clemens. Kaye was a 1975 Eisenhower High School graduate in Utica. She had worked in the cafeteria at Capac Community Schools and had been a Boy Scout den mother. She enjoyed crafts, working around the house and taking care of the kids. Kaye liked to cook and would often keep “Leatha’s Specials” (sub sandwiches) in the fridge for her kids and their friends to enjoy. She was a sweet person who liked animals and loved her kids and her husband. Kaye was the perfect person to her family.
Surviving in addition to David, her husband of 45 years, are a son, David Tyler McKee of Capac; four sisters, Frielda Molter of Macomb Township, Linda (Larry) Chaltron of Ray Township, Diana (Greg) Martin of China Township, and Donna (Vern) Johnson of North Branch, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by a son, Chris McKee (2017), two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law, Lynn Molter and Jerry and Connie McKee, father, Richard Trombley; mother, Iris (McMillan)Trombley and father and mother-in-law, Dave and Dorothy McKee.
