Joyce Elaine Wilson, age 71, of Dryden passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2021, peacefully at home. She was born October 5, 1949 the daughter of Roy and Irene (DaFoe) Loomis in Cass City, Michigan. She attended Imlay City High School and went on to study cosmetology at Virginia Farrell. Joyce always attributed her mechanical abilities to the time she spent with her father working on vehicles while growing up. She later used these skills working as quality control at the automotive company, TRW.

Joyce was an outstanding and well-respected horsewoman. Beginning at an early age, she learned to ride with her father and grew to respect and appreciate these animals. Eventually, in her 40’s, she began to raise and train her own horses. Her strength and determination and love of learning led her to participate in many clinics as she progressed to showing at state and national levels in both Dressage and Western Pleasure disciplines. She will be deeply missed by the local equine community. Those who ride will be thinking of her fondly as they enter the arena at A and ride down the center line, X Halt and Salute their dear friend, Joyce.

Joyce is survived by her sister, Linda (Don) Stokes of Grayling, and Nieces and nephews, Ann Libby, Lisa Baker, Dennis Stokes and Great niece, Amanda Libby. She is also survived by her dear friends Gene and Andrea Michalski of Oakland.

The Memorial Service was held on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, 2650 South Van Dyke – Imlay, MI 48444. Pastor Tyler Kreiner of Gateway Assembly officiated. Interment was private at Guardian Angel Cemetery.
