Almont’s Jacob Rayl looks to sink a putt at the Div. 3 state finals.

ALMONT — Almont’s Jacob Rayl claimed a five-way tie for 44th place last Friday and Saturday at the Division 3 golf state finals.

The Meadows Golf Course, on the campus of Grand Valley State University in Allendale, is where the action unfolded.

Rayl started tournament play Friday with an 83 over 18 holes.

He then followed it up Saturday with an 85.

That left him with a 168 output over 36 holes, paving the way to a five-way tie for 44th place.
