Peggy Hart – Wells, age 64, of Imlay City, MI died Saturday, May 29, 2021 after an extended illness at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital. Peggy Ann Hart was born February 17, 1957 in Lapeer, MI. She was the daughter of the late William Henry and the late Myrtle Jane (Wilson) Hart. Peggy lived most all of her life in Imlay City. Peggy was a graduate of Imlay City High School, Class of 1975. She had attended Mott Community College in Flint for a short time after high school.
Peggy worked as a waitress and bartender at several restaurants and bars around the Imlay City area. She retired from Nick’s Country Kitchen in Imlay City in 2019. Peggy will never be forgotten. She was loved by so many, and always greeted them with a smile and a hug. She had a way of always making her family feel super-special and very well loved.
Peggy is survived by her children, Elizabeth Wells of Imlay City and Chris Wells of Imlay City; her sister, Marjie Helzer of Imlay City; her grandchildren, Tony Harrison and Amayah Maldonado; and Marjie’s children, Alexa Helzer and Matthew Helzer and Lucus. Also surviving are her boyfriend, Steve Reynolds of Imlay City, MI; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Peggy was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Wells; and her parents, Bill and Myrtle Hart.
The Wells family has entrusted Peggy’s funeral arrangements and cremation to Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street (corner of 4th St. and N. Main St.), Imlay City.
A memorial service/celebration of life will be held from 3-7 p.m., Friday, June 4, 2021 at Imlay City Eagles Hall, 170 S. Almont Avenue (corner of 2nd St. and S. Almont Ave.), Imlay City, MI
