On May 15, 2021, Giuseppina “Jo” Marshall departed this world to accept new employment as the official bread baker to God’s Heavenly Host.
Born February 27, 1926 to parents Ignazio Mendola and Marianna Mendola in the City of Detroit, Jo was preceded in passing by her brothers, Ignazio Mendola, Phil Mendola, Anthony Mendola and Junior Mendola; and sisters, Grace Williams and Rose Fontana.

She is survived by her sons, Edward Marshall (Pam Johnson) of St. Clair and Robert Marshall (Lori Tesch) of Ortonville; as well as granddaughter, Jessica Golden (Brandon) of Lake Orion.

A 56-year resident of Almont, MI, Jo loved her family, home, town, country and church. She also loved making her homemade bread and sharing it with friends and family that she placed on a rotating “bread list.” If you made it to her list, you knew you were in Jo’s good graces.

Visitation will be Friday, May 21 between the hours of 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont, MI.

Church services will be on Saturday, May 22 at 10 a.m. at St John’s Catholic Church in Allenton, MI. Fr. Mike Gawlowski will officiate.

Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont.
