TRI-CITY AREA — The Almont and Capac girls’ track squads pulled up second and fifth, respectively, last Friday at the Richmond Invitational.

Lutheran North edged Almont, 165.5 points to 161.5, for first place honors. They were followed by Madison Heights Bishop Foley (92.5), Richmond (87), Capac (58.5), Parkway Christian (39) and Memphis.

Molleigh Rinke, discus, 85 feet; and Devin Johnston, 200 dash, 26.74 seconds; led Almont with individual event firsts.

The Almont 800-meter relay of Elly Schapman, Paige Feldman, Valarie Sullivan and Johnston took first as well. They were timed in 1:55.51.

Montserrat Coronel, long jump, 14 feet 3 1/2 inches; Ella Cichewicz, shot put, 29 feet 3 inches; and Sullivan, 400 dash, 1:08.07; collected Almont’s outright individual event seconds.

The 400 (Claire Taylor, Feldman, Coronel and Johnston) and 3200-meter (Ayla DeLaurier, Molly Kline, Heather Fitchett and Alyssa Serra) relays took second as well. They were timed in 55.29 seconds and 12:36.19, respectively.

Taylor, high jump, 4 feet 6 inches; provided Almont with a two-way tie for a second.

Rinke, shot put, 27 feet 8 inches; Cichewicz, discus, 68 feet 6 inches; and Kline, 3200 run, 14:15.78; furnished Almont’s thirds.

Brandi Brady, 100-meter hurdles, 20.14 seconds; Coronel, 400-dash, 1:11.3; and DeLaurier, 3200 run, 14:29.93; contributed Almont’s individual event outright fourths.

The Almont 1600-meter relay of Haley Dempz, Coronel, Schapman and Sullivan placed fourth as well. They were timed in 5:10.9.

Feldman, high jump, 4 feet 3 inches; contributed a three-way tie for fourth to Almont’s cause.

Taylor, long jump (13 feet 1 inch) and 100 hurdles (20.29 seconds); Feldman, 200-meter dash, 29.62 seconds; Kline, 1600 run, 6:24.74; and Fitchett, 3200-meter run, 14:35; provided Almont’s outright individual event fifths.

Sullivan and Schapman shared a 100 dash fifth, aided by matching clockings of 14.03 seconds.

Rinke, pole vault, 5 feet; gave Almont a three-way tie for a fifth.

Chloe Brady, 100-meter hurdles, 20.71 seconds; collected the lone Almont seventh.

Brianna Burchi, shot put, 22 feet 9 inches; added an eighth to Almont’s cause.

Annabelle Schneider, long jump, 15 feet; and Abby Aldrich, shot put, 29 feet 7 inches; paced Capac with firsts.

Schneider, 100 dash, 13.3 seconds; and Aldrich, discus, 70 feet 10 3/4 inches; gave Capac individual event seconds.

The Capac 800-meter relay of Juliana Closurdo, Emily Rodriguez, Bella Wetter and Schneider took third in 2:07.7.

Gracie Klink, 800 run, 2:25.27; gave Capac an outright fourth.

The Capac 400-meter relay of Aria Nealy, Closurdo, Wetter and Schneider placed fourth as well. They were timed in 58.46 seconds.

Klink provided Capac with a four-way tie for a high jump fourth. She cleared 4 feet 3 inches en route.

Capac also received a sixth from Closurdo, 200 dash, 30.21 seconds.
