Raymond Elliott Jr., 53, went home to the Lord on April 12, 2021.

Raymond was born to Raymond Sr. and Phyliss (Nuemayer) Elliott on May 23, 1967 in Yale, MI. Raymond spent his life in the Capac area and was devoted to his town, his faith, and his family. Raymond had a few jobs during his life, including being a skilled welder, but the one he was most proud of was working for a short time for the Capac DPW. He really enjoyed serving his town.

Raymond loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He was very artistic and enjoyed woodworking as well. His favorite things to do were to fish with his son, Remington, spend time with his grandchildren teaching them archery and fishing, and working on small engines. Raymond also loved music. He listened to everything from ’80s rock to dubstep. You never knew what he would be listening to when he pulled up in his truck. Raymond was also willing to help anyone with any project they had. He never shied away from helping others. Raymond was a member of the C3 church in Capac and the Capac Historical Society.

Raymond was blessed with a large and loving family. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 35 years, Sherry; his son, Remington Elliott; his daughter, Dawn (Ken) Leonard; his grandchildren, Zachary Leonard, Charles Leonard and Adelyn Leonard; his brother, Ben; his parents, Raymond Sr. and Phyliss Elliott; father-in-law, Keith Harland; mother-in-law, Garcia Kandler; and many other loved ones.

A celebration of life is being planned for the summer of 2021. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are encouraged to direct them to the Capac Historical Society.
