Imlay City’s Mary Lengemann (R) topped the Tri-City scoring list this past season.

TRI-CITY AREA — From start to finish, the 2020-21 campaign proved an exciting one to watch whether it be in person or via the internet.

Here is a look at those players who earned a spot on the Tri-City Times All-Area lineup and the numbers they posted along the way,.

Mary Lengemann, Imlay City.

Lengemann proved the most productive scorer among Tri-City players this winter, averaging 19.2 points per contest.

The 5-11 junior guard also averaged 8.2 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 2.7 assists.

This was her third year on Imlay City’s varsity.

Lengemann concluded the 2021 campaign as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team selection.

She was also named the BWAC’s MVP.

Ella Kage, Dryden.

Kage averaged 13.4 points per game this season.

That placed her first on the Dryden squad and second among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

The 5-2 senior guard also averaged 6.1 steals, 5.1 assists and 2.8 rebounds.

This was her fourth year on Dryden’s varsity.

She finished the 2020-21 campaign as an All-North Central Thumb League first team choice.

Kage was also named the league’s Best Defensive Player.

Grace Johnson, Almont.

Johnson averaged 8.9 points per game this winter.

That placed her first on the Almont squad and third among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

The 5-4 junior guard also averaged 2.5 steals and 1.5 assists a game.

This was her third year on Almont’s varsity.

She wrapped up the season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team pick.

Brandi Kautz, Almont.

Kautz averaged 8.3 points per game this season.

That placed her second on the Almont squad and fourth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

The 5-4 senior guard also averaged 3.3 steals, 3.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists.

This was her third year on Almont’s varsity.

Kautz completed the 2020-21 campaign as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team selection.

Kayla Rossen, Imlay City.

Rossen averaged 8.0 points per game this season.

That placed her second on the Imlay City squad and fifth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

The 5-9 senior forward also averaged 7.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 steals per contest.

This was her third year on Imlay City’s varsity.

Rossen wrapped up the season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference first team pick.

Ana Lengemann, Imlay City.

Lengemann averaged 7.6 points per contest this winter.

That left her tied for third on the Imlay City scoring list and tied for sixth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team selections.

The 5-7 junior guard also averaged 3.1 steals, 2.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game.

This was her third year on Imlay City’s varsity.

Lengemann ended the 2021 campaign as an All-Blue Water Area Conference second team choice.

Abigail Thibodeau, Imlay City.

Thibodeau averaged 7.6 points per game this season.

That placed her tied for third on the Imlay City squad and tied for sixth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

The 5-5 senior guard also averaged 3.2 rebounds, 3.2 steals and 1.1 assists per contest.

This was her fourth year on Imlay City’s varsity.

Thibodeau wrapped up the season as an All-Blue Water Area Conference second team pick.

Kendall Roszczewski, Almont.

Roszczewski averaged 6.9 points per game this winter.

That placed her third on the Almont squad and eighth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team honorees.

The 5-9 sophomore forward also averaged 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals and one assist.

This was her second year on Almont’s varsity.

She concluded the 2020-21 campaign as an All-Blue Water Area Conference honorable mention pick.

Jaya Forti, Imlay City.

Forti averaged 4.6 points per contest this winter.

That left her sixth on the Imlay City squad and ninth among Tri-City Times All-Area first team picks.

The 5-5 junior guard also averaged 3.7 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 1.9 assists per game.

This was her second year on Imlay City’s varsity.

She finished the season as a member of the All-Blue Water Area Conference Defensive team as well as an All-Blue Water Area Conference honorable mention selection.

Second team- Hannah Revoldt, Almont; Elizabeth Brandt, Almont; Lily Lengemann, Imlay City; Natalie Embree, Dryden; Riley Knox, Dryden; Jenna Palazzolo, Capac; and Meriah Mason, Capac.

Honorable mention- Miya Wolff, Dryden; Lexa Forti, Imlay City; Sarah Hall, Almont; Juliana Closurdo, Capac; Julia Schaefer, Capac; and Grace Koenig, Almont.

Coach of the Year- For directing Imlay City to a pacesetting 10-0 Blue Water Area Conference mark, a Division 2 district title and regional championship (the first in school history) as well as a quarterfinal appearance, Spartan Coach Heather Lauwers earns Tri-City Times All-Area Coach of the Year accolades.
