Gordon Frederick Mosey, 86, of Mussey Township, passed away Friday, April 9, 2021, in the comfort of his home.
He was born November 22, 1934, the son of the late Hugh Henry and Lillian (English) Mosey.
His marriage to Marlene Rubel was December 4, 1976, in Traverse City, MI.
Gordon owned and operated Flame Construction, Kalkaska, since 1979 and worked as a carpenter with his builders license focusing on fire and storm damage. He enjoyed nature; whether he was tending to the vegetable garden, planting flowers, going on a nature walk or hunting and fishing. Every morning Gordon spent quality time with his companion, Lacey – his dog, while having his morning coffee and toast.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Marlene, of 45 years; are six children and spouses, Gary (Kate) Mosey, Mark Mosey, Sandy (Don) Schmidt, Dan (Cindy) Mosey, Lynn (Jeff) Teller and Michelle (James) Mwickmandy; 14 grandchildren, Mike and Jeff Mosey, Shelia, Shane, and Matt Mosey, Cortney Schmidt, Gordy (Sonia) Mosey, Jen and Meg Mosey, Nick and Chris Mosey, Christopher and Kyle Teller, and Nathan and Nicole Wickman; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Carl “Bud” Mosey; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Norman and Hubert Mosey; and two sisters, Lorraine Morretti and Arlene Gontarz.
Rite of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2021, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Capac, with 10 a.m. visiting. Fr. Noel Emmanuel Cornelio, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Township.
Memorials are suggested to “Wishes of the Family” or Mass donations made in Gordon’s name.
