CAPAC — Capac downed visiting Marlette twice in a Greater Thumb Conference varsity softball doubleheader Monday.
In the opener, Capac pulled out a 4-3 victory over Marlette.
There Skielar Tesnow doubled to start the seventh inning. It was followed by a triple by Meriah Mason, giving the Chiefs a walkoff triumph.
Kassy Amon led Capac with a single and double. She was backed by Haleigh Hansen (two singles), Mason (a triple), Tesnow (a double) along with Chloe Moran and Julia Schaefer (a single each).
Mason was the winning Capac pitcher. She allowed two hits, struck out nine and walked two.
In the second game, Capac picked up a 16-4 victory over Marlette.
Mason (a single and a triple) and Tesnow (a single and a double) paced Capac’s offensive attack. Haleigh Hansen, Paige Hansen, Madelyn Roberson, Cerenity Helzer, Moran and Amon (a single apiece) supported their performances.
Roberson was Capac’s pitcher of record. She gave up four hits, retired six via the strikeout route and walked one along the way.
