Mary Rohmer, 85, of South Carolina, died Monday, April 5, 2021 at MUSC Health Chester Nursing Home in South Carolina. Mary Nell McDaniel was born April 4, 1936 in Mascot, TN. She was the daughter of the late James and the late Flora (Williams) McDaniel. Mary grew up around Mascot, TN. She was a graduate of Mascot, TN. Mary played basketball while she was in high school. She married Stephen Rohmer on February 2, 1957 in Warren, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve, on January 22, 1995.
She was employed by several different companies through the years: Baylock Auto (they made fiberglass fuel filters), Castle’s Mushroom Farms in Dryden, MI, and Holly Carburetor in Detroit, MI.
Mary is survived by one daughter, Lisa (Steve) Jessop of Chester, SC; her grandchildren, Luis, Rey, Violet and Trevor; and her great-grandchildren, Evan, Dean and Kaylum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Rohmer; her daughter, Cynthia “Cindy” Soto; and her grandson, Stevie Soto.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI. Reverend Fr. Noel Cornelio, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Imlay City, MI.
Due to recent health concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing (six feet apart), masks (to be worn at all times), and limited occupation (25 people at a time) of the funeral home will be enforced.
The family will be available for visitation from 11-1 p.m., Thursday, April 8 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
