IMLAY CITY — Carly Livingston, an Imlay City High School graduate, registered a placewinning performance for the Grand Valley State University women’s track team at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships recently.

Her showing came on the second day of the meet which was contested March 11-13 in Birmingham, Alabama.

Livingston, a senior, wound up eighth with a pole vault clearance of 3.95 meters.

Grand Valley State University senior Elli Kimes took event honors that day. Kimes cleared 4.15 meters en route.

Both attained All-American accolades for their performances.

With their help, Grand Valley State University won the national title with 93 points. Minnesota State (40 points), West Texas A&M (37), Central Missouri (36.5), Saginaw Valley State University (35), CSU-Pueblo (32), Indianapolis (24), UC-Colorado Springs (21), Missouri Southern (20) along with Hillsdale and Pittsburg State (19 each) rounded out the top-ten schools.
