LAPEER COUNTY — Appointments are now being taken for a special drive-through vaccination clinic at the Eastern Michigan State Fairgrounds in Imlay City on Tuesday, April 13.

The Lapeer County Health Department announced today that they’ll be administering the one dose Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) vaccine at this particular clinic.

Appointments will be scheduled from 10 a.m. through 6:30 p.m.

To register for the clinic, visit www.lapeercountyweb.org and follow the vaccine link.

“On the form you will need to click on the Johnson and Johnson vaccine preference in order to be scheduled for this clinic,” the department said in a press release.

“The Janssen is a one dose vaccine, with no second dose appointment required.”

The same day, the health department will conduct a special clinic at their offices for 16 and 17 year-olds.

This clinic will be providing the Pfizer vaccine, and appointments will run from 2-6 p.m.

Registering for this clinic can also be done through www.lapeercountyweb.org and users should select ‘no preference’ for vaccine type. Anyone ages 16-17 will automatically be scheduled for the Pfizer vaccine on that date.

“A parent must be present with the student to receive the vaccine. The Pfizer is a two dose vaccine. Second dose appointments will be scheduled for Tuesday, May 4,” the release stated.

The health department is located at 1800 Imlay City Rd. in Lapeer.

County officials said they are still in need of volunteers for these and other clinics.

“If you are interested in assisting with vaccinating, or providing other support, which may include helping with registration, completing vaccination cards, etc., please contact our office at 810-667-0448,” officials said.
