Tammy Pia, age 47, of Imlay City, died Sunday, March 21, 2021 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital of Lapeer, MI. Tammy Marie King was born October 23, 1973 in West Branch, MI. She was the daughter of John and the late Charlotte (King) Nott. Tammy grew up in Sterling, MI. She is a graduate of Standish-Sterling High School, Class of 1991. Tammy continued her education at Baker College in Flint, MI. She married James Edward Pia on June 10, 1995 in Romeo, MI. Tammy and James have lived in the Imlay City area for the past 21 years.

She was employed as a Parts Specialist – SPO by General Motors in Grand Blanc, MI for 7 years. Prior to working at GM, Tammy was employed for several other auto part suppliers.

Tammy loved to spend time with her family. She helped out with her daughters’ Girl Scout troop and was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, James Pia; her daughters, Kayla Pia of Imlay City and Loren Pia of Imlay City; father, John Nott; sister, Tina (Jay) West; and her brother, Dustin (Jill) Nott.

Tammy was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Taylor Pia; her mother, Charlotte Nott; and her brother, John Nott, Jr.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 25, 2021 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 3834 N. Mill St., Dryden. Reverend Fr. Mike Gawlowski, pastor of St. Cornelius Catholic Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at Imlay Township Cemetery.

The family will be available for visitation Wednesday, March 24 from 4-8 p.m. at Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI and 10-11 am, Thursday, March 25 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church.

Due to recent health concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing (six feet apart), masks (to be worn at all times), and limited occupation (25 people at a time) of the funeral home will be enforced.

Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City.
