ALMONT — Almont came out on top of a 75-50 verdict over Richmond in a Blue Water Area Conference varsity boys’ basketball contest last Wednesday night.
With the decision, Almont goes to 7-2 and 5-2. Richmond slips to 2-4 and 2-4.
In Wednesday’s contest, Almont charged out to a 24-14 advantage after one quarter had ended.
The middle two quarters saw Almont generate 33 total points and Richmond manage 24, leaving them up 57-38 with 24 minutes elapsed.
Almont then outscored Richmond 18-12 the rest of the way, assuring themselves of a 75-50 win at night’s end.
Charlie Koenig 15 points, including three triples), Blake Campbell (15) and Joey Savel (13, featuring three treys) led Almont that evening. The Raiders also had Clayton Roszczewski (eight, with a pair of triples), Matthew Measel and Scott Pape (five each), Logan Walton and Haden Lacavera (four apiece) along with Richey Rockey and Blake Cody (a trifecta each).
