ALMONT — The Almont varsity boys’ basketball team slipped to 5-1 overall and 3-1 as far as Blue Water Area Conference encounters are concerned following a 65-52 setback at home last Wednesday afternoon.
In Wednesday’s confrontation, Armada bolted out to a 22-14 advantage after one quarter was complete and took a 35-27 lead at the half.
Quarter three saw Armada net 13 points and Almont manage 12, increasing their cushion to 48-35.
Armada then outscored Almont 17-13 the rest of the way, finishing off a 65-52 win.
Charlie Koenig (15 points, including three trifectas) paced Almont’s scoring attack. He was backed by Joey Savel (12 points, featuring three treys), Logan Walton (eight, with a triple), Blake Campbell (six), Scott Pape (five) plus Blake Cody and Clayton Roszczewski (a triple each).
