The For the People Act, Nancy Pelosi’s House Resolution 1, contains many provisions that are unconstitutional, unhelpful and unnecessary.
According to Heritage Action for America, some of these terrible policies include allowing campaigns to be funded with taxpayer dollars. There would be a voluntary 6 to 1 match on political contributions up to $200, forcing Americans to spend millions of dollars funding campaigns they are politically opposed to.
It would also mandate same day registration. States would be required to register a person to vote upon request, even on the day of an election, with no time to verify personal information, which enables voter fraud.
It would require states to restore the ability of felons to vote. Upon release from prison, felons would immediately be restored the ability to vote. This would violate states’ authority given to them by the 14th Amendment.
These are a few changes that would occur should this terrible bill be passed.
