DRYDEN — Dryden handed visiting Mayville a 61-30 setback in a North Central Thumb League varsity boys’ basketball clash last Friday evening.
With the outcome, Dryden goes to 2-1 and 1-0. Mayville drops to 1-1 and 0-1.
In Friday’s clash, Dryden opened up a 17-11 advantage after one quarter was done and increased that margin to 29-20 at halftime.
When the action resumed, Dryden widened the gap some. Aided by a 16-3 third quarter edge, the Cardinals went up 45-23 with 24 minutes gone.
Dryden then outscored Mayville 16-7 the rest of the way, putting the finishing touches on a 61-30 win.
For Dryden, Jack Kaplan led the way with 25 points. He was given assistance in the scoring department by Nate Schenkel, Josh Schornak and Merrick Maris (nine points apiece), Jacob Burgess (seven) and Harry Atkinson (two).
