DRYDEN — Area band students are invited to take part in a Spring Concert being held in April at the Dryden Wesleyan Church.
Organizer Jesse Prososki said interested musicians in grades 7-12 should plan to attend one of two upcoming “audition” sessions at the church. He said the auditions on Friday, Feb. 19 from 4-6:45 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 21 from 3-6 p.m. will be used to determine what groups musicians should be placed in.
Weekly rehearsals will then be held leading up to the April 24 concert.
Prososki said safety protocols, in line with what schools are currently practicing, will be followed during auditions and rehearsals.
“I hope all band students in Lapeer County know this opportunity is available,” he said.
Prososki said he was inspired to create this music program since schools haven’t been able to host live performance events.
