Sandra Gormley, 75, of Imlay City, died Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Stonegate Health Campus of Lapeer. Sandra Lee Gormley was born April 21, 1945 in Marlette, MI to the late Bernard and the late Laura (Henn) Gormley. She was totally deaf at birth. Her mother, a teacher by profession, taught her to lip read and speak. Sandra graduated from North Branch Public Schools and attended Cosmetology School in Port Huron, MI. She lived her entire life in Lapeer County.

Sandra was employed as a beautician in the Lapeer area and she volunteered at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital. Sandra lived on the family farm until her parents’ passing. She then moved to a Lincoln Commons condo in Lapeer where she lived for 11 years before moving to the Sanctuary of Maple Vista Senior Living facility in Imlay City, where she lived for 9 years. She loved cats and her cat collectibles. Sandra enjoyed reading, watching movies and going out to eat.

Sandra is survived by her brother, Dr. Larry (Teresa) Gormley of Attica; three nephews, John (Jacqueline) Gormley, Gerald (Jenna) Gormley and Jeffrey (Elizabeth) Gormley; along with five great-nephews and two great-nieces; and many cousins and friends.

The funeral mass was held Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 700 Maple Vista, Imlay City. Reverend Fr. Noel Cornelio, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, officiated. Interment followed at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in North Branch, MI.

Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
