TRI-CITY AREA — Free COVID-19 antibody tests are currently being offered at Marlette Regional Hospital.
Kohler Propane has provided the funds for 100 tests and the hospital is making them available to the public.
“Steve Kohler recov
ered from COVID-19 but is personally aware of others who were not as fortunate. He was inspired to provide funding through Kohler Propane for these tests,” the hospital said in a press release.
The free COVID-19 antibody tests are available on a walk-in basis at Marlette Regional Hospital weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. No appointment is necessary.
Kohler has also made a plasma donation and is encouraging others to do the same.
“If you are fully recovered from a verified case of COVID-19, your blood contains COVID-19 antibodies that can attack the virus. This convalescent plasma is being evaluated as a possible treatment for currently ill COVID-19 patients,” the hospital noted.
For COVID-19 convalescent plasma donation information, contact the American Red Cross at https://www.redcrossblood.org/ and click on the ‘Donate Blood’ tab and then select ‘COVID-19 Convalescent Plasma Donation.’
