IMLAY CITY — The Houghton County Sheriff’s Dept. reports that 61-year-old Jeffrey Scott Schaller of Imlay City died Saturday, Dec. 26 from injuries sustained in a snowmobile accident.

According to the Sheriff’s report, at around 4:15 p.m., Schaller lost control and was ejected from his snowmobile, striking several trees alongside the trail.

Sheriff Brian J. McLean reported that Schaller was pronounced deceased at the scene by local EMS personnel.

The Sheriff’s office continues to investigate the incident..

McLean acknowledged Adam’s Township first responders, Mercy Ambulance and Superior Service for their assistance on the scene, as well several citizens for transporting medical personnel to and from the scene with their snowmobiles.
