Jose Manuel Rico, 53, of Clinton Township, and formerly of Capac, died Sunday, December 6, 2020, at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital, Clinton Twp.
He was born August 3, 1967, in Mexico the son of the late Juan Rico and Maria Cerda.
His marriage to Belen Ruiz was September 2, 1995, in Imlay City.
Jose earned a bachelor’s degree in land surveying in 1989. He was employed by Shuert Technologies, Sterling Heights as a process technician for 23 years and for the previous two years at Lafata Cabinets, Shelby Twp.
He loved soccer and coached in Capac for many years through the American Youth Soccer Organization. He was known as a hard worker, very happy and was always positive.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Belena, of 25 years are four children, Andrea Rico, Angelina Rico and Samuel Rico all of Clinton Twp. and Alberto (Shawna) Rico of Armada; sister, Maria DeJesus Rico; brother, Reynaldo Rico; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family honored the memory of Jose on Friday, December 11 at a Rite of Christian Burial at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Capac, Fr. Noel Emmanuel Cornelio, pastor, officiated.
Arrangements are by Kaatz Funeral Directors, Capac.
