Organizers say, “We’ll be back next year”
TRI-CITY AREA — The Harry C. Moore Memorial Basketball Tournament, scheduled for this Thursday and Friday at Capac High School, has been
called off.
The two-day tournament was to have featured varsity and junior varsity boys’ and girls’ basketball teams hailing from Capac, Imlay City, Memphis and Deckerville.
“It is with a great deal of sadness we have made the decision to cancel this year’s event,” Dale Moore, one of the organizers, informed the Tri-City Times. “With the upswing in COVID-19 cases and the pause in school sports we feel it is not feasible nor prudent to carry out this year’s tournament,” he noted.
“We will be back again next year and are looking so forward to seeing everyone. The Moore family wishes all to stay safe and well.”
