Madeline Wedlake, age 79, of Attica, MI died Friday, October 30, 2020 at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility (Suncrest) of Lapeer, MI. Madeline Marie Green was born September 11, 1941 in Brown City, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late Glenford “Bob” and the late Nelda (Able) Green. Madeline grew up in the Brown City area and she was a graduate of Brown City High School, Class of 1960.
She married Melvin Wedlake on September 28, 1963 in Imlay City, MI. She was preceded in death by Melvin on April 21, 2019. Madeline was a self-employed bookkeeper and tax preparer in the Imlay City area. She had worked for a time as a bookkeeper at Moldmaster’s in Imlay City. She was a member of the Imlay City VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Madeline and Mel enjoyed RV camping and boating and spending time with family.
Madeline is survived by one daughter, Melissa (Bill) Conner of North Branch, MI; and three sons, Duane (Sheryle Ann) Wedlake of Imlay City, Phillip Wedlake of Attica and Daniel (Jesse) Wedlake of Brown City, MI. Also surviving are sisters, Phyllis Bissett of Brown City, MI and Glennie Shephard of North Branch, MI; her grandchildren, Aaron Houston, Sydney VanDemme, Nikki Smith, Cody Wedlake, Ty Wedlake, Miranda Wedlake, Bruce Knirs, Elisha Wedlake, Gabriel Wedlake, Brandi Conner, Seth Conner, Molly Conner, Chloe Conner, and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Wedlake; and her brother, Dwight Green.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home of Imlay City, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
Graveside interment of Madeline’s cremated remains will be placed beside her husband Melvin at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly.
