As members of the Imlay City community for the past 25 years, we were very excited when we learned that Dr. Laura Zelenak had accepted the interim appointment to the open seat on the Imlay City School Board and we fully support her decision to run and fill the seat in the upcoming election.
We first met Dr. Zelenak roughly ten years ago, when our youngest sons were starting school together. Since then we have come to know her as a dedicated member of the Imlay City community and a champion of the students and staff of the Imlay City schools. As a physician and business owner she has a very clear perspective of life in the community and how to better meet the needs of students in the community.
We most recently had the opportunity to work with her on the ‘Vote Yes for ICS’ committee to pass the last school bond. She was a wonderful team member to work with that was always reliable to show up with a wealth of positive ideas and the energy for getting them done. We have no doubt that she will approach her position on the school board with the same passion and enthusiasm for the students of this community.
