Katherine (Kathy) Marie Brock, 76, of Dryden passed away Saturday, October 10, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She was born November 21, 1943 to Charles and Helen Pachmayer in Ironwood, MI. After graduating from St. Ambrose High School Kathy attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI, where she received her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Kathy dedicated herself to the care of others while working at St. John Hospital in Detroit, MI. After an additional 40 years of nursing, Kathy eventually retired from Henry Ford Macomb Hospital in Clinton Township, MI.
Kathy married the love of her life Daniel Brock 54 years ago, on July 2, 1966 in Ironwood, MI. Together they raised three children, Stephanie, Kevin and Julie. There are many things that made her special, however at the top of the list was her commitment to her family, faith and grandchildren! She will always be known for her great sense of style, wonderful creative energy, attention to detail and her incredible home cooked meals. Kathy’s wonderful spirit and kind heart is what her family and friends will cherish the most.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Daniel Brock; their children, Stephanie (Scott) Cabaniss of Montgomery, TX, Kevin (Melanie) Brock of Clarkston, MI, and Julie (Herb) Betts of Sharpsburg, GA. Kathy is grandmother to Hailey and Riley Cabaniss, Carson, Ethan and Aidan Brock, Tanner and Ty Watkins and Alexander Betts. She is also survived by her siblings, Barb Majetich, Sister Ellen Pachmayer, Helen Kay Magadanz, David (Vicki) Pachmayer, Mary Pachmayer-Quinlin and Christine (Kelly) Andryscik.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
The funeral mass was said on Friday, October 16, 2020 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 3834 N. Mill Rd., Dryden with Father Michael Gawlowski officiating. Burial was made at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 4057 Mulholland St., Dryden.
