Mary Schwartz, 79, of Imlay City, MI, died Sunday, October 11, 2020 at her home. Mary Hodgart Campbell was born April 23, 1941 in Paisley, Scotland. She was the daughter of the late Robert and the late Elizabeth (McNeil) Campbell. Mary grew up in Scotland until she was 11 years old when she moved to the United States. She lived in Shelby Township and Lexington through the years. Mary was a graduate of Utica High School, Class of 1959. She attended college. Mary married Wilfred “Jim” Schwartz on June 30, 1962 in Utica, MI. She and Jim lived in Lexington for a number of years before moving to Imlay City six years ago.

She was mostly a homemaker, raising her family. Mary worked for Kelly Services and in retail sales for short periods of time.

Mary enjoyed golfing with her husband, Jim, and their friends.

She was a leader of the Rainbow Girls for a few years.

Mary is survived by her husband, Jim Schwartz; her son, Gregory (Jennifer) Schwartz of Fenton, MI; daughters, Kimberley (Giovanni) LaFata of Macomb Twp., MI, Michelle (Richard) Rebecca of Bothell, WA and Leane (Kevin) Stacy of Swartz Creek, MI; and five grandchildren, Danielle, Nicholas, Dillon, Luke and Sofia.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Odette.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial is being planned for a later date with interment to be at Great Lakes National Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, MI.
