I am delighted to acknowledge that I lived in Imlay City for the better part of twenty-one years and I was privileged to have been a part of the Imlay City High School staff.

My admiration and respect for this community brings me to write this letter of support for Dr. Laura Zelenak for Imlay City School Board.

I have incredible deference and appreciation for the students, parents, staff, administration, and the board members of the IC Community Schools. With this in mind, I want to recommend to the electorate that they cast their ballot for Dr. Laura Zelenak. She has truly demonstrated her commitment and loyalty to the community as a food drive co-organizer, breast cancer awareness initiatives supporter, and relentless school fundraising volunteer.

At her own expense, Dr. Zelenak purchased a large quantity of no touch thermometers for distribution to our families during this COVID crisis. Laura was a powerful force behind our successful “Vote Yes for ICS” bond campaign last year. It was obvious to all of us that Dr. Zelenak could lead and follow with the same eagerness and fervor. She has done all this while steadfastly serving on our school-wide Health Curriculum Committee.

Dr. Zelenak co-sponsors—along with with Dr. Clendenan and Dr. Warnars—a local scholarship for an Imlay City High School senior pursuing a health care major and she personally funds an against-all-odds scholarship each year.

I believe very strongly that Dr. Zelenak will add her strength, intelligence and compassion to this outstanding school board. She will work persistently to bring fair-mindedness to all of our students so that they might follow their dreams and find their success.

In addition to my endorsement of Dr. Laura Zelenak, I would like to wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Marcel Lamb and Kaylee Kaeding as well. Both of these outstanding incumbents have demonstrated diligence, integrity and dedication. Their efforts simply have made us a better school community.
