Marie Lamphere, 63, of Attica, MI died Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at her home with her loving family at her side. Marie Ann Szabo was born February 18, 1957 in Lapeer, MI. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Stella (Horvath) Szabo. Marie grew up and lived most of her life in the Imlay City, MI area. She was a graduate of Imlay City High School, Class of 1975. Marie earned an Associate’s degree in banking and finance at Mott Community College in Flint, MI. She married Randolph “Randy” Lamphere on December 1, 1984 in Imlay City, MI.
She was employed as a loan officer in Romeo and Davison for 40 years and recently retired. Marie was a member of St. Cornelius Catholic Church in Dryden, MI. She helped with church bazaars. She enjoyed going on trips to Fort Wayne, IN to visit with her daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Brad, and their dog Copper. Marie loved to garage sale. She liked to watch Hallmark movies to see the happy endings. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, growing flowers and helping people.
She is survived by her husband, Randy Lamphere; her daughter, Ashley (Bradley) Irvan of Fort Wayne, IN; and her sister, Janet (Richard) Nelson of Davison, MI.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Stella Szabo.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church, 3834 N. Mill St., Dryden, MI. Reverend Fr. Mike Gawlowski will officiate.
Due to recent health concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing (six feet apart) and wearing of masks (to be worn at all times) will be enforced.
The family will be available for visitation 10-11 a.m., Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at St. Cornelius Catholic Church.
