Since voters, in overwhelming numbers, voted to approve the ballot proposal to legalize recreational marijuana you have to ask yourself, why do so many people need a drug to recreate? Are their lifestyles so bland they need a drug to enjoy life?
I grew up in the ’50s and ’60s and we didn’t need any help from drugs to have a good time. I enjoyed a lot of good times and a lot of great friends during my life. I don’t believe marijuana would have enhanced the good times we had or kept the memories of those times any sharper than they are in my mind today. I don’t believe marijuana would have made me more exhilarated over my successes throughout my life, although it may have diminished the sting of my failures. The sting of your failures is what drives you to achieve your next success; if you lessen the sting with drugs, you’re just reducing the drive to achieve that next success.
If your fondest memories are of being high, maybe you should consider getting a life.
