Marietta F. Hamilton, 100, lifelong resident of Almont, MI passed away Monday, August 31, 2020 at Troy Beaumont Hospital. Marietta was born May 12, 1920 in Monongahela, PA, the daughter of Lonzo and Mary Etta (Louttit) Mitchell. Marietta grew up in Pontiac, MI and graduated with honors from Pontiac High School. On November 30, 1940 she married J.L. Hamilton and moved to Almont. They were happily married for 62 years and lifelong members of First Congregational Church of Almont.
Marietta was very active in church functions, including the church choir and women’s activities. She enjoyed quilting, flower gardening, needlework and in her later years, as a resident of Orchard Grove Health Campus, she did beautiful adult coloring projects as well as group craft activities.
Marietta is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl (Allan) Brown of Prescott, AZ, and Claudia (Terry) Boldt of Almont. Grandchildren, Kali (Matt) Miller, Kari (Joe) Arms, Faun (Ron) Parks, David (Gary) Brown, Lori (Joe) Cusack, Marcy (Joseph) Blanding. Great-grandchildren, Connor, Andrew, MacKenzie, Rachel, Jonah, Cassie, Richie, Tom, David, Jake, Ranei, Jared, Noah and Drew. Great-great-grandchildren, Addison, Taylor and Wesley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers.
Private graveside funeral services were held with a celebration of her life to be held at a future date.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Almont.
