TRI-CITY AREA — Be prepared for more temporary road closures where they meet the railroad.
As previously reported in the Tri-City Times, CN Rail crews have begun repairing several rail crossing in the Tri-City area.
Last week, the Lapeer County Road Commission passed along new information that indicated other crossings, in addition to what was originally reported, will also be closed for upgrades.
This week Blacks Corners Road, Handley Street and Almont Ave. in Imlay City are all due to be closed to traffic.
Crews will continue to work their way east and, as of Sept. 1, their plan was to close Graham Road in Imlay Twp. on Sept. 8 in Imlay Township, followed by Engles and Cade roads and Martin and Bryce roads in Mussey Twp.
Per the railroad’s schedule crossings are closed anywhere from five to 10 days at a time to make the repairs and repave the crossing.
Projects in the Attica area were due to wrap up earlier this week.
Doran Road, which has been closed at the railroad crossing for several weeks, could reopen sometime this week.
The others, in Imlay and Mussey townships, should be complete by mid-month.
