Mary Ann Kaupp, 88, a 47-year resident of Almont, previously from Shelby Township and winters in Nettles Island, FL, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at her home in Almont. Mary Ann was born June 19, 1932 in Flint, MI, the daughter of Simon J. and Gladys (Raymond) Kalfs. She married Harold “Don” Kaupp on January 17, 1953 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Flint and Don preceded her in death on January 28, 2013.
Mary Ann is survived by children, Ann Ayotte of Hampton, VA, Carol Lauinger of Waterford and Richard (Maria) Kaupp of Metamora. Grandchildren include Eric (Takami) Cain, Keith, Matthew, and Brian Ayotte, and Dustin (Jennie), Ian, and Mikaela (Blake) Thomas. Four great-grandchildren Kami Kaupp, Richard Kaupp, Noki Cain, Tera Cain. She is also survived by her siblings, Dorothy Tarrant and James Kalfs.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Robert Kalfs, Margaret Welch, John Kalfs, Geraldine Buchanan; and sons-in-law Joe Ayotte and Michael Lauinger.
Mary Ann was a dedicated homemaker while also helping her husband start and build three businesses; and accompanying him on multiple adventures, such as sailing and traveling the United States. Mary Ann was always glad to attend any and all activities of her kids and grandkids.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 12 p.m. at Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home,
11280 32 Mile Road,
Romeo, MI 48065 with burial to follow at the Ferguson Cemetery in Almont.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Henry M. Malburg Funeral Home.
